Road Safety Strategy - a State Perspective

The development of a road safety strategy at a State level involves the concepts of strategic analysis, consultation and integration to provide a framework for developing detailed strategies and actions focusing on priority road safety problems.rnRoad safety is a community wide responsibility and is shared among three levels of government in Australia (Federal, State and Local), plus private sector organisations and community groups. To be successful this requires close consultation with key road safety stakeholders in government and industry.rnGiven the inter-sectoral nature of road safety, it is important that all opportunities are explored, including public health, education, enforcement, and the insurance and road freight industries, so that roles and actions can be developed and integrated.
