It is important to discriminate the risks of older drivers to harm other road users and the risks to harm themselves, while accidents prevention measures for older drivers being considered, In this study, the risks of older drivers to kill other road users were estimated, analyzing exposure data from nation wide kilometer-driven survey in Japan and police-reported accident data in 1993-1995. The results showed the risks of older drivers(>64 years old) to kill other road users are as about 1.2 times large as the risks of 25-64 drivers, while risks of older drivers to kill themselves are as 2 to 3 times large as that of 25-64 drivers. It was also showed Younger driver' s(<25 years old) risks to kill other road users are as more than two times as large as that of older drivers.
