APPLICATION OF GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM IN REGIONAL ROAD PLANNING

摘要

This paper systemically described the integrated methods and technical implements of transportation data collecting and processing systems in regional road planning. The analysis of actual applications that GIS's data processing capacity and integrating function are emphasized; and systemic function analysis and advantage discuss are based on this. Combining with our country's current practical situation of the road planning, We took Economic Development Zone in Shengyang City as an example, this paper discussed the methods of the road network data collection as well as ground date modal construction utilizing on-vehicle GPS and Mapinfo technology. This system established a platform that integrates data collecting and processing; moreover it achieves some major functions of road network planning in close connection with both inside and outside the industry. The successful outcome of the case we referred has proved that apply this integrative system can significantly improve road network's planning and administration efficiency,it can also promote road planning's quality.
