Industrial’s Research and Development Project 129/155 yields a method of concentrating a HazardousrnAqueous Solution (HAS), which resulted in U.S. Patent No. 4,664,752. Briefly, the HAS is vaporized and passesrnthrough a porous surface having a temperature no less than that of the vapor, which subsequently condenses to producernsubstantially pure effluent. The porous surface, which is typically recrystallized silicon carbide, can be furnishedrnin the form of filter candles for larger installations as well as in the form of discs for laboratory test units.
