A dynamic holographic display of full-color, full-parallax 3D objects with a 10" diagonal has recently been demonstrated at DSI from 378-Mpixel holograms at a 60 Hz refresh rate by using physical and optical scan tiling techniques, together with a newly proposed space division multiplexing technique for color mixing. In this paper, we review and compare three different holographic display systems developed by our research group over the past five years, from various perspectives such as optical system architecture, hologram tiling, color mixing, control & syn chronization, hologram computation, storage and transmission. The bottlenecks and prospects of further development of the system for practical applications are also discussed.
