When it comes time to work with new standards, sometimes we have to facernexceptions. This is exactly what happens when a case is not fully covered by the standards andrnour utility has to deal with it. There's always the commercial way of dealing with such problemsrnbut this article describes a real case study of flicker out of the expected customer complaint area.rnThis will show the sensitivity of measuring flicker with Pst and Plt as suggested by IEC-61000-4-rn15[1] and the resulting statistical evaluation. It was found that it is possible to get customerrncomplaints even when the 95% values of Pst and Plt are well within recommended values. Also,rnthis article will describe a case where there are two sources of flicker from the same device: onernthat does not cause any problem with ?V around 2%, 6 times per hour and the other with ?Vrnaround 9% that lasts 0.2 second and repeats 12 times per hour. But, it certainly can causerncustomer complaints.
