Operating experience with COMTES700 - on track towards the 50plus power plant

COMTES700 is an acronym for Component Test facility for a 700℃ power plant and part of the strategy of a consortium of major European manufacturers to develop new coal-fired power plants which will fulfil the requirements of the European market. These are low emissions, high efficiency and low electricity generating costs. The partners have all committed themselves to increasing coal-fired power plants efficiency through the introduction and application of new materials. COMTES700 aims to develop coal-fired steam power plants with net efficiencies above 50 % (LHV) by elevating steam parameters to around 350 bar and 700℃ by testing the necessary components in a CTF (component test facility).
