A SUGGESTION OF A FREQUENCY GRADIENT BASED UNDERFREQUENCY LOAD SHEDDING SCHEME

The importance of a well established electric powerrnsystem protection is a fact, underfrequency load sheddingrnincluded. In order to upgrade and improve the traditionalrnapproach to underfrequency load shedding, suggestions ofrnusing the frequency gradient can be found in thernliterature. However, many system parameters must bernknown in order to obtain useful information fromrnmeasuring the frequency gradient. If the assumption ofrnknowing those parameters is made, it is possible to lowerrnthe amount of the total shedding volume, by gathering therninformation that the second frequency gradient carries. Inrnthe paper, one of such ideas is presented, that is showingrnconsiderable improvement compared to traditionalrnscheme.
