This paper proposes a contactless charger for Li-Ion battery with electromagnetic induction technology, and discusses the compensation method and the coupling relationship. The half-bridge resonant circuit is controlled to generate a varied current, which produces an inductive magnetic field. The secondary side LC circuit induces a magnetic field which results in electromagnetic coupling. Therefore, the secondary side induces an ac current, which supplies load with steady dc source after rectification and filtering. The proposed contactless electromagnetic induction charger can supply power to the Li-Ion battery without contacts.
