Maxwell technologies and Pacificorp have teamed to demonstrate and commercialixe maxwell's ultracapacitor technology. This advanced ultracapacitor technology has characteristics that include much greater power density than standard batteries, and much greater energy density than standard capactions, and fills a need between these two conventional technologiesfor high power, short duration energy storage. Several ultracpacitor cells and modules have been developed and are now being manufactured for wide range of applications. Individual ultracapacitor cells ranging from 10 farads to 2700 Farads are being manufactured and have become ocnvenient building blocks that can be series configured to achieve higher voltage or parallel ocnfigured to achieve greater energy storage. Individual cells being used in consumer electronic applications have also bee tested and characterized to develop higher voltage modules required for industrial nad automtive applications. Ultracapacitor modules have been developed and tested at 14,56 and 170 volt increments using a variety of cell configuration.
