Pt/Ketjen black catalysts having various loading amounts of tin dioxide particles, Pt/x-SnO_2/KB (x = 0, 17, 58), were prepared and their ORR (oxygen reduction reaction) activity and the durability were studied. The ORR activity of Pt/58-SnO_2/KB is higher than that Pt/0-SnO_2/KB. Durability of Pt for each catalyst was investigated by repeatedly potential pulse test between 0.6-1.0 V. It is clarified that the durability given as ECA remaining is improved by tin dioxide loading. Therefore, loading of SnO_2 particles would give increase ORR activity as well as durability of Pt catalyst.
