Abstract: The oldest application of plastic optical fibers (POF)is without doubt the transmission of light. In theearly 1980s, Dupont de Nemours made some findings whichwere the beginning of the development of plasticoptical fibers. Ten years later, with the progress oftechnology, lighting with POF stimulated the interestof many users, in particular architects and designers.In this paper we describe several systems ofillumination developed by Optectron France using POF,from these installations we have obtained technicalinformation which was unavailable until now, and whichwill be applied in new and even more complex projects.!0
