Pipelines, Trains and Automobiles:Rehabilitation of an 18' Sewer with No Excavation -Howard Street Sewer Project, Framingham, MA

As part of a sewer replacement project, the Town of Framingham, Massachusettsrndetermined the most effective construction method to repair a failing 18-inch sewerrnlocated directly underneath a heavily traveled Massachusetts Bay Transit Authorityrn(MBTA) and CSX Corporation (CSX) railroad, and located in a downtown area with highrnvehicle and pedestrian traffic. The rehabilitation of this sewer was made without anyrnexcavation, by slipping a new 12-inch replacement pipe inside the old failing 18-inchrnsewer, essentially creating a new pipe inside the old failing pipe.
