Qualification scheme for direct-heated subsea flowlines

Long offsets and subsea tie-backs are becoming attractive scenarios for exploration and production of offshore hydrocabon resources. Flow assurance associated with these field development scenarios is critical. Direct heating of subsea flowlines an risers is an attractive technology for prevention of hydrate and wax formation. THis paper examines the qualification scheme for a direct heated flowline project presently ongoing whthin the deepstar programme.
