New sensitizers for diagnosis and photodynamic therapy of malignant tissues

Abstract: The strategy for chemical transformation of naturally occurring chlorophylls and bacteriochlorophyll $alpha has been discussed. The influence of the position and the character of the substitutes on the optical properties was studied. Aminoacid derivatives of purpurin 18 and bacteriopurpurin have been synthesized via direct attachment to propionic acid side chain. Biological trials of chlorin p$-6$/ were performed and discussed. !6
