This paper introduces the procedure of modeling in-building propagation,which is of great importance for design and planning of indoor wireless information networks.To model the transmission system comprising of transmitter,receiver and different kinds of obstacles,ray tracing technique is used to take a transmitter as a source launching a number of rays to different directions,some of these can reach the receiver through different paths so that they have different path loss and delay,adding them together gives out the field strength at the receive point.Based on this model,computer simulation is done to predict the propagation loss and delay spread,it is shown that the simulation agrees very well with the experiments.
