Uninterruptible Power Supply Unit with Fuel-Cell as a Backup Energy Source and DSP-based Control System

摘要

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) intended for emergency backup system supplied by hydrogen hasrnbeen built as an example of fuel cells’ applications. The device contains 600W polymer electrolyternmembrane fuel cell (PEM-FC) and two ultracapacitors (110 F) connected in series. One of the mainrncriteria for this project was creation of the on-line UPS with total insulation between the supplied loadsrnand power network. The rated power of the supply is app. 400 W with the accurate sinus on its output.rnUsing the metal hydride tank the UPS has an ability to work for 35 minutes at 400 W of the load byrnusing dead-end-capable configuration. The controller and diagnostic unit for the UPS is based on thernstate-of-the-art DSP/CPLD technology.
