摘要

"Dynax" is an electric motor consisting of a permanent magnet rotor and a claw pole stator with axialrnwindings. The glass fiber rotor is an outrunner with thin permanent magnets. A back iron is notrnapplied. The motor provides a notable high torque and allows an extended motor speed range. It has arnconsiderable high stray inductance and a low short circuit current, so field weakening operation over arnwide range of speed is possible. Because of the typically high number of pole pairs, control andrninverter have to manage high fundamental frequencies. The paper shows the advantages especiallyrnfor starter alternators and electric cars as well as the special demands on the motor control.
