摘要

An analysis of 1 MW permanent magnet (PM) synchronous machines for a 4 MW locomotive applicationrnis presented. The motors are of direct drive type with high power density and liquid jacket cooling.rnDifferent stators with distributed and concentrated windings and also different interior PM type rotorsrnare numerically evaluated, and their performances are compared. The 2D finite element methodrn(FEM) is used for magnetic, thermal and mechanical stress analysis.
