Six different flotation flowsheets have been tested at the Huang.Sha.Ping lead-zinc mine, namely:rntwo-stage grinding and bulk flotation; one-stage grinding and partial bulk flotation; one-stage grinding andrnbulk flotation; one-stage grinding and iso-flotation; one-stage grinding, iso-flotation and selective flotation forrnzinc in the tailings; and one-stage grinding and selective flotation.rnA comparison of the economic profitability and technical performance of the six flowsheets showsrnthat ore in the bulk and partial bulk flotation flowsheets was floated and depressed excessively resulting inrnhigh reagent consumption and reduced lead and zinc concentrate quality. Pyrite recovery was problematic inrnboth partial bulk and selective flotation. This was resolved to a large extent by iso-flotation which uses therndifference in inherent floatability. The flowsheet that incorporates one-stage grinding, iso-flotation andrnselective flotation for zinc in the tailings appears to be most suitable as useful minerals are recovered earlyrnand quickly using this flowsheet.
