Lead is one of man's most valuable commodities occurring naturally in the environment, and is mined andrnprocessed in some 60 countries. The usage continues to increase and will rise from 6 million tonsrnworldwide in 1990s, to about 9 million tons in this current year. The regional collection and distributionrnsystem of scrap batteries works on the rules and regulation implemented by government bodies. Wernshould be open to making efforts in defining a hassle-free and clean system of battery collection, andrnimplement pollution free lead recycling. With time, most governments, along with local representativernbodies, in order to curb the ill-effects of unconventional recycling systems have emerged to promote eco–rnfriendly recycling policies. Lead recycling is practiced using highly efficient technology for optimal andrneffective pollution control making it an example of green recycling. In today's world, to meet therncompetition, constant R&D is necessary, for example the use of the oxy burner for reduction process.rnVarious other technologies are also used based on the specific criteria and development opportunities, forrnexample the hydrometallurgical process for lead refining. Thus, lead acid battery recycling processrntechnology is an art just because it has to be done with ease and organized making the environment feel –rngood.
