TOWARDS MULEX - A MULTILINGUAL LEXICAL DATABASE SYSTEM FOR MACHINE TRANSLATION

The preliminary idea of a multilingual lexical database system for machine translation (MULEX) is proposed. MULEX is designed especially to increase the efficiency of multilingual machine translation. The outstanding features of MULEX include simplicity, efficiency, extendibility and multilinguality. MULEX can be used as a dictionary and a thesaurus via a web-based interface as well. To illustrate the performance of MULEX, we have integrated it with Generate-and-Repair machine translation system (GRMT). In this paper, the building of MULEX database is discussed and the integration between MULEX and GRMT is presented.
