Er~(3+)/Yb~(3+)Codoped Phosphate Glass for Ion- Exchanged Planar Waveguide Amplifiers

摘要

A novel Er~(3+)/Yb~(3+) codoped phosphate glass was developed, which exhibited good chemical durability in molten salts and excellent spectroscopic properties. Preliminary results of ion exchange at different time and temperature, and with varying melt concentrations indicated that WM4 glass was suitable for ion-exchange experiments and there was no deterioration of surface quality.
