Abstract: The Acousto-Optic Null Steering Processor (AONSP) program Acousto-Optic Adaptive Processor (AOAP) is a specific implementation of the least mean square (LMS) algorithm in a correlation canceler loop configuration for radar multisidelobe jammer rejection. The impact of the radar 'performance in jamming' requirements flowdown on the AOAP top-level specifications is a function of specific radar characteristics, specific jamming scenarios, and ideal performance limits of the implemented algorithm given those conditions. The ability of the components comprising the AOAP to achieve their functional/performance requirements, flowed down to them in turn, further influences the net performance. The results to date of this process for the DARPA/Rome Laboratory sponsored AONSP program are the subject of this paper.!4
