Abstract: The development of electrodeposited selective nickel-cobalt black coating for solar thermal energy conversion is described. Optimized electrolyte composition and operating conditions are standardized by use of Hull cell. Ammonium acetate has been used as a complexing agent to produce quality black coating with good optical properties. The present system produces black coatings in the current density range from 4 to 8 A/dm$+2$/. Optimized coating possesses solar absorptance ($VAR@) of 0.96 and thermal emittance ($Epsilon@) of 0.11. !12
