Toroidal surfaces in ophthalmic optics

Abstract: Some forms of the equation of the toric surfaces are presented. The equation in the sagitta form facilitates the choice of the correct solution for the incidence point of the light rays. There are given also the formulae for the radii of curvature and the components of the normal to the surface. Aberrations of toric spectacle lens are shown.!11
