Unveiling a new deep water acoustic receiver and deep water acoustic source

High Tech, Inc has developed two new acoustic instrumentsrnwith applications in the oil and gas industry as well as thernnaval research communities. The first instrument is a patentedrnlow-cost, deep-water acoustic receiver, which is fullyrnoperational to 6000 m water depths. The design is based onrnpressure compensated flexural discs; this results in no changernin the sensitivity or frequency response of the hydrophonernfrom the sea surface to 6000 m depth. The second instrumentrnis a broad bandwidth, high output, deep-water acoustic source,rnwhich can be used at ocean depths to 6000 m. This source,rnwhich has been used successfully for over 20 years, providesrnhighly-repeatable waveforms that are depth independentrnand span frequencies applicable to geotechnical andrngeohazard surveys.
