In the last ten years, many publications in the fossil cycle chemistry-related literature have dealtrnwith a very attractive topic, namely with organics and their behavior in the plant cycle. It is often stated that tornevaluate the real impact of organics on the major cycle components, investigations with respect to selective corrosionrneffects of low-molecular acids (in particular on turbine materials) are required.rnIn power plant cycle chemistry, many new developments have only been investigated subsequent to their use,rnI.e., after a successful or failed industrial application. This is also the case with organic cycle treatment chemicals.rnIn hundreds and hundreds of fossil cycles, organic cycle chemicals have been put into use without previously obtainingrnscientific backing.rnThis contribution focuses on the polyamine/amine regime in cycles with drum boilers. Several case studies arerndiscussed which demonstrate the positive experience with this organic cycle chemistry treatment in industrialrnpower generation.
