The acoustic scattering from objects is an interesting physical phenomenon and it is also of great importance in practical engineering application such as underwater acoustics, exploration engineering, non-destructive testing, particle manipulation, and so on. In the underwater acoustic field, the acoustic target strength (TS) of the underwater objects is a very important parameter in designing the particular engineering structures (such as the submarine or torpedo). In this work, we mainly analyzed the influence of several typical internal liquid tanks on the overall acoustic TS of the submarine structure in the abeam direction. From the obtained numerical results, it can be find that TS is insensitive to the distance between the liquid tank bulkhead and the cylindrical shell in our considered frequency range, but the projected area of the liquid bulkhead have an influence on TS in the abeam direction. With these conclusions, a liquid tank can be better designed for the acoustic stealth performance.
