George F. McBride, indendent inventor and sole proprietor at PfISH Turbines, Machiasport, Maine, began to develop a new instream hydropower turbine, four years ago. A “Seed Grant” (less than $5,000), from the Maine Technology Institute in 2009, provided initial funding.
