Schizophrenic Middleware Support for Fault Tolerance

In this paper, we identify the middleware functionnalitiesrnand properties that are required to effciently implement thernFault Tolerant CORBA speci?cation. Our approach reliesrnon certain properties of PolyORB, our schizophrenic middlewarernto provide CORBA-based applications with faultrntolerance. Our approach is validated by performance measuresrnfor the stateful replication styles de?ned in the standardrnand for the failure detection and noti?cation infrastructure.rnEven if our current full Ada95 implementation requiresrnan optimization phase, it exhibits acceptable performances,rncompared to existing implementations of this standard.
