The byproduct potential of nonwood pulping processes

摘要

Considering our rapidly increasing dependence on the limited amount of photosynthetic products (biomass) being produced, future studies will have to focus on the full exploitation of the potential of renewable resources. Consequently, research on utilization of nonwood plant materials will not only be limited to the production of fibers, but will have to be extended to the sue of pulping by-products originating from lignins and polysaccharides (matrix polysaccharides - hemicelluloses).
