摘要

This paper is concerned with the relationship between structure and properties of waterborne polyurethanes.As an introduction it will cover the differences between condensation and addtion polymerizations.Basic reactions of isocyanates will be discussed,leading to illustrations of how polyurethanes are synthesized.the major raw materials in waterborne polyurethane synthesis and how they affect the structure property relations will be illustrated.properties such as particle size,morphology,mechanicla properties and end use properties will be discussed.Emphasis will be placed on cross linking reactions and how they affect end use properties.
