Source models for noise radiation calculations from largestructures and industrial plants

The paper summarizes those analytical and numerical models, which can be used to calculate noise radia-tionrnfrom large sources such as civil structures, industrial equipment and plants. Simple elementaryrnsources such as point, line and plate sources are outlined and their sound field compared. A number ofrnnumerical methods are also outlined and shortly evaluated from the industrial application's point of view.rnA case study, dealing with source ranking and quantification of the partial noise sources of a heating plantrnis discussed in some detail and various calculation methods are compared.
