HIGH TEMPERATURE STABLE COLORED SOL-GEL COATINGS FOR AUTOMOTIVE SIGNALING LAMPS

1. Environmentally friendly high temperature stable amber and red colored sol-gel coatings have been applied, which maintain their color over the lifetime of the lamp. 2. The coating withstands elevated temperatures, at least up to 320℃. 3. The amber sol-gel coated lamps show a significant reduction of the thermo-chromic effect compared to lamps made from Cadmium-glass. 4. The amber sol-gel coating is a very good alternative for the Cadmium containing glass used for DRL application.
