Kinematic profiling in object location and line drawing tasks by visuo-spatial neglect subjects

Assessing the functional characteristics of a user or user group is essential in any system design, but is of critical importance in dealing with systems to support rehabilitation programmes. This paper reports on the development of a technique, based on computer analysis of essentially "pencil-and-paper" tests to detect and assess visuo-spatial neglect in CVA patients, as a precursor to developing appropriate rehabilitation programmes. Quantitative results are presented which will facilitate more accurate monitoring of rehabilitation progress.
