NEW HIGH DENSITY SZ-STRANDED RIBBON SLOTTED CORE CABLE FOR UNDERGROUND ACCESS NETWORKS

摘要

The newly developed SZ-slotted core cable can accommodate up to 300-fiber with 4-fiber ribbons andhave water-blocking capability with the water swellable wrapping tape for underground use. Further, thedownsized SZ-slotted rod has been adopted of which diameter is almost equal to that of conventionalhelical core cables. The fundamental factors for the design of SZ-stranded ribbon fiber structure has beenthen clarified. The trial downsized SZ-slotted core cable was fabricated, tested and showed goodperformance.
