3-D Simulating Analysis for Thermal Control during Construction Period on Dahuashui RCC Arch Dam

摘要

The Dahuashui dam is the highest RCC arch dam with the height of 134. 5m. Including the factors of creep, accumulated self-weight and cool pipes, 3-D simulating analysis were carried out from the construction to operation according to the measured data and the actual construction process. The results show that the cracks occurred during the early construction period is mainly caused by thermal stress. The dam would be safe during the periods of the first winter and impoundment by insulating the upstream and downstream faces of the dam.
