Aiming at the fast setting phenomenon of middle-heat cement after mixing retarding superplasticizers in the Guizhou Goupitan Hydropower Station project construction, the influence factors, such as the mineral composition of cement, the type and content of gypsum, the type and content of admixtures and mixing method of admixtures, on the compatibility between cement and admixtures and the reason resulting in the fast setting of cement after mixing superplasticizers were analyzed. The prevention measures of fast setting of cement were proposed.
