摘要

This study introduces our latest development of a physically-based methodology to simulate intra-laminar damage in laminated composites. The model accounts for the initiation and growth of damage at the structural level. An image processing technique that provides a full-field measurement of the displacements in notched specimens (overheight compact tension specimens) has been employed to calibrate the damage model. Finally the effectiveness and validity of the damage model is demonstrated by simulating the same overheight compact tension tests used for calibration of the model.
