摘要

In-situ hybrid composites of thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer (TLCP), unsaturated polyester (UP) and glass fiber (GF) have been successfully prepared by melt mixing technology. The thermal and mechanical properties of in-situ composites have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and static mechanics analysis respectively. The fracture surfaces were observed by scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results showed that the impact strength and the bending strength and modulus of the composites tend to increase with increasing TLCP contents for the composites containing TLCP content ≤ 5 wt%. DSC and TGA indicated that the thermal stability of the composites when the TLCP content was 2.5wt% are higher than that the composites containing TLCP content > 2.5wt%. SEM analysis revealed that the interfacial adhesion of composites with 2.5% TLCP is better than the composites without TLCP.
