The methods of intelligent process control and their applicationnto provide a quality product with a minimum number of defects arenpresented. A case study of a high-pressure polyethylene productionnprocess using intelligent distributed controls is examined. Andistributed statistical quality control structure is defined in twonlevels. The first level is the statistical process control scheme, andnthe second is the process management system, including statisticalnquality control.
