The roadway construction stage is the most hazardous stage.Geologic anomaly,such as abandoned goofs,collapse columns or gas outburst region,can trigger disasters.So,the geologic condition ahead of the tunnel face must be continuously detected and imaged.In this paper we study the possibility of using coalmine heading machine as a seismic source for SWM (seismic while mining) prospecting.In a coalmine workface with known roadways,10 three-component coalmine seismic recorders were installed to continuously record the seismic signal from coalmine heading machine.After data processing,the result showed that using the coalmine heading machine as a seismic source,the reflected wave from roadway can be reliably distinguished,and the reflected wave from a speculated fault is also can be seen.
