In this paper, non-linear failure behaviors of bolted joints in glass fiber reinforced polymersrn(GFRP) and recently developed carbon/glass hybrid fiber reinforced polymers (HFRP) have beenrnstudied by using the present proposed new tensile testing. The load – deformation relationships,rnthe bearing strengths and the collapse modes have been discussed in detail. It has been suggestedrnthat the bearing strength per unit area for a FRP bolted joint decreases as the diameter of boltrnincreases because of no redistribution after yielding.
