RECENT RESULTS FROM THE NA49 EXPERIMENT

Results from the NA49 experiment on the energy dependence of hadronic observables, including new preliminary data at 30 AGeV beam energy, are presented. The transverse mass spectra can generally be described by assuming a thermal source with transverse expansion at all energies. A clear step-like pattern is observed in the energy dependence of the inverse slope parameters for kaons. The K~+/π~+ ratio reveals a distinct maximum at around 30 AGeV. The deuteron coalescence parameter B_2, as well as the elliptic flow parameter υ_2 vary smoothly as a function of the beam energy.
