It is conceivable that the complete high frequency response of optimally doped YBCO can be explained within the d-wave picture, but at low temperatures in particular there are serious problems still to be resolved. In BSCCO additional loss mechanisms have to be invoked which may be related to the recently discovered spatial inhomogeneity of the superconducting state. Since the size of these additional contributions is unknown, no conclusions can be drawn with regard to the pair state of BSCCO from high frequency measurements.
