This discussion will present the essence and the potential of holistic design and analytic methods of dynamic systems. We must think and understand beyond our accidental level of knowledge and the prevalent myths to comprehend what the dynamic structural system can do to our production levels, maintenance costs, dependability, and longevity to a very positive effect on the prognosis of the system. We have two choices of design methodologies: a) the realm of the mythical or b) the attitude of the scientific. The latter, a holistic method based on scientific fact that can be replicated; the former depends on the dynamic myths of the designer while the result is left to chance.The physical dynamic system operates in the reality of the natural phenomenon of dynamics. That phenomenon states that everything has a natural frequency by its very nature; therefore, it is the duty of the engineer to understand, predict, and control the natural frequencies of the system to attenuate vibrations and the dynamic problems of resonance.
