CHARACTERISATION OF PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF SODA LIME FOR BREATHING COMFORT

Sodalime is an important part of closed circuit breathing apparatus. Jt is used when nan has to work far away from froah air in adverse situation for rescue and recovery operation. Soda lime is used for the absorption of carbon dioxide from exhaled air for recalculation in breathing bag. A comprehensive quality performance evaluation of indigenous soda lime is highlighted in this paper. The Physico-chemical properties such as moisture, size grading, hardness and activity test are co-related at Central Mining Research Institute, Dhanbad while entrapped practice procedure (EPP) test for physiological effects such as blood pressure, body weight loss, pulse rate and body temperature are performed at Mines Rescue Station, Dhansar.
