FERRO-CEMENT: TECHNO-ECONOMICS

摘要

Ferrocement is labor intensive, intermediate technology material with a wide potential especially for application in the rural areas of developing countries. It is a versatile form of reinforced cement concrete made of wire mesh, cement, sand and water, which possess unique strength and serviceability. It can be constructed with minimum skilled labours and utilizes readily available materials. Economics of ferrocement is always considered in the light of quality of product desired, the location and other competitive materials, which have traditionally become a part of culture.This paper discuss the economics of ferrocement with the help of a case study of a big renowned restaurant constructed exclusively with ferrocement construction given with rural architectural effect.
