The anodic behavior of H_2 gas at gas electrodes has been studied in a LiCl- KCl eutectic melt. It was shown that the electrochemical oxidation of H_2 gas occurred at more negative potential than the Cl_2 gas evolution potential and that protons or the derived species were formed as reaction products and dissolved partly in the melt. It was demonstrated that the oxidation of H_2 gas could be applied to the dehydration of the melt. The electrochemical oxidation of H_2 gas in a LiF- KF eutectic melt was also investigated and the dehydration was tried.
